Superstars Slot Review by NetEnt

Get ready to meet the legends in NetEnt's Superstars slot! This slot brings together iconic characters from the provider's most popular games, offering players a unique experience and potentially huge wins. Superstars is a true celebration for NetEnt fans, where every spin can lead to an encounter with a beloved hero and activate exciting bonus features.

Mechanics and RTP

Superstars features a 5-reel, 5-row grid with 45 fixed paylines. The slot has an RTP range of 96.08% to 96.25%, which is quite high for mode slot machines. The game's volatility is high, meaning less frequent but potentially larger wins. This makes Superstars an ideal choice for players who enjoy taking risks and are willing to wait for a big payout.

The game mechanics include several interesting features:

• Gonzo Mechanics: While Superstars doesn't have a direct avalanche mechanic like Gonzo's Quest, some bonus features can create the feeling of cascading wins.
• Starburst Mechanics: Hints of Starburst mechanics appear in wilds that can expand and trigger respins.
• Symbols: On the reels, you'll encounter famous NetEnt characters like Gonzo, Starburst Star, Finn, Lady Pig, and others, each of which is a high-paying symbol. Low-paying symbols are represented by card suits.
• Paylines: 45 fixed paylines provide plenty of opportunities to form winning combinations.

Bonus Features

Superstars is packed with bonus features, each inspired by famous NetEnt games and promising exciting gameplay:

Free Spins Mode

Three or more scatter symbols (diamonds) trigger the Free Spins mode. Before the free spins begin, you move to a new 5x5 game board where each symbol occupies its own cell. You start with 3 lives, and any symbol landing on the reels resets the life counter to 3. If no symbols land within 3 spins, the Free Spins mode ends.

Symbols in Free Spins

In Free Spins mode, special symbols appear, each representing one of NetEnt's famous heroes and possessing a unique function:

• Gonzo: Adds a multiplier of up to x5 to a random symbol on the reels.
• Finn: Adds a multiplier of up to x5 to adjacent symbols.
• Lady Pig: Adds a multiplier of up to x5 to a random symbol on the reels.
• Starburst Star: Adds a multiplier of up to x5 to a random symbol on the reels.
• Miss Banks: Adds a multiplier of up to x5 to a random symbol on the reels.
• Additive Symbol: This is a special symbol that can appear in Free Spins and add its multiplier to an already existing multiplier in a cell.

Wheel Feature

In Free Spins mode, if you fill all 5 cells on one reel, the Wheel Feature is activated. This wheel is divided into segments that can give you the following rewards:

• Multipliers: Increase the overall win multiplier.
• Extra Spins: Additional lives in Free Spins mode.
• Gonzo Feature: Triggers the Gonzo feature, adding a multiplier to a random symbol.
• Finn Feature: Triggers the Finn feature, adding a multiplier to adjacent symbols.
• Lady Pig Feature: Triggers the Lady Pig feature, adding a multiplier to a random symbol.
• Starburst Star Feature: Triggers the Starburst Star feature, adding a multiplier to a random symbol.
• Miss Banks Feature: Triggers the Miss Banks feature, adding a multiplier to a random symbol.
• Random Multiplier: A random multiplier to your win.

Hold and Win

The Free Spins mode in Superstars is essentially a variation of the popular "Hold and Win" mechanic. Multiplier symbols remain in place, while the remaining cells spin, offering a chance for new symbols to appear or bonus features to activate.

Wild Symbols and Respins

• Wild Symbols: Wild symbols can appear on all reels and substitute for all regular symbols to create winning combinations. They do not substitute for scatters.
• Wild Respin: While there isn't a direct respin for wilds only, some features can indirectly lead to re-spins.

Expanding Symbols

Superstars does not have traditional expanding symbols, however, some bonus features can create the feeling of expansion when multipliers are applied to adjacent symbols.

Feature: Random Reward

In the base game, the "Random Feature" can be randomly activated, adding up to 3 scatters to the reels, increasing the chances of triggering Free Spins.

Bonus Buy

For players who don't want to wait, Superstars offers a "Bonus Buy" feature. For a certain amount, you can instantly activate the Free Spins mode, which is ideal for those looking for quick access to the most exciting game features.

Symbol Swap

Superstars does not have a direct symbol swap feature, however, the interaction of various bonus symbols in Free Spins can create dynamic changes on the game board.

Final Verdict

Superstars by NetEnt is a true masterpiece that combines the best of the NetEnt world in one slot. The combination of familiar characters, innovative bonus features, and high win potential makes this game a must-play for any online slot fan. High volatility and a generous RTP attract both beginners and experienced players.
