Mechanics and RTP

Treasure of Tombs is a classic video slot with 5 reels and 3 rows. The number of active paylines is adjustable and can be set from 1 to 9. This gives players the flexibility to choose their level of risk and potential reward. Bets range widely, allowing for play with both small budgets and high stakes.

• RTP (Retu to Player): The theoretical retu to player for Treasure of Tombs is approximately 95.1%. This is an average figure for online slots, indicating that the machine offers fair chances of winning in the long run.
• Volatility: The volatility level in Treasure of Tombs can be characterized as medium-high. This means that wins may not be as frequent, but they can bring significant amounts, especially during bonus rounds. Players should be prepared for periods without wins, which can be followed by large payouts.
• Paylines: Winning combinations are formed from left to right, starting from the first reel, by landing identical symbols on an active payline.

Symbols and Payouts

The slot's symbolism fully aligns with the Egyptian theme, immersing the player in the atmosphere of ancient civilizations:

• Low-paying symbols: Card values from 10 to Ace, stylized as Egyptian hieroglyphs.
• High-paying symbols: Images of the scarab beetle, Bastet figurine, golden jewelry, and, of course, the explorer himself – the brave archaeologist.
• Wild symbol: The "Book of Ra" symbol (or "Book of Dead" in some interpretations) acts as the wild symbol. It can substitute for any other symbols (except the Scatter) to form winning combinations.
• Scatter symbol: The same "Book of Ra" symbol is also the scatter symbol. It is not tied to paylines and can award wins anywhere on the reels.

Bonus Features

Treasure of Tombs offers several exciting bonus features that significantly increase the chances of big wins:

Bonus Game (Free Spins)

The most anticipated and lucrative feature is the free spins round. It is activated when 3 or more Scatter symbols (Book of Ra) land anywhere on the reels. The player is awarded 10 free spins.

• Expanding symbol: Before the free spins begin, one regular symbol (excluding Wild/Scatter) is randomly chosen to become an "expanding" symbol.
• Expansion feature: When this chosen symbol lands on the reels during free spins, it expands to cover the entire reel if it contributes to a winning combination. This can lead to multiple reels being filled with identical symbols, providing very large payouts.
• Re-triggering: If 3 or more Scatter symbols land again during free spins, an additional 10 free spins will be added, significantly increasing the potential for wins.

Wild Symbols

As mentioned, the "Book of Ra" symbol also acts as a wild symbol. Its ability to substitute for other symbols helps create more winning combinations, making the main gameplay more dynamic and profitable.

Final Verdict

Treasure of Tombs by Playson is a solid slot machine that successfully combines a classic Egyptian theme with mode bonus features. Although the RTP is average, the medium-high volatility and the potential for large wins in the bonus round make this slot attractive to players seeking excitement and substantial payouts.
