Book of Gold: Symbol Choice

Book of Gold: Symbol Choice Slot Review by Playson

Get ready for an exciting jou ey to Ancient Egypt with the Book of Gold: Symbol Choice slot machine from the renowned provider Playson. This slot is one of many in the popular "Book of..." series, but it offers a unique feature that sets it apart from the competition. If you appreciate classic mechanics but are looking for something fresh, then this slot definitely deserves your attention.

General Description

Book of Gold: Symbol Choice transports players into a world of pharaohs, pyramids, and mysterious artifacts. Visually, the slot is designed in a traditional Egyptian style with golden hues, detailed symbols, and appropriate sound effects. The game grid consists of 5 reels and 3 rows, offering 10 fixed paylines. The simple interface and intuitive controls make the game accessible to both beginners and experienced players.

Mechanics and RTP

The gameplay mechanics of Book of Gold: Symbol Choice are based on the classic "book" slot principle. The goal of the game is to collect combinations of identical symbols on active paylines. Winning combinations are formed from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.

• RTP (Retu to Player): The RTP range in Book of Gold: Symbol Choice can vary, but it typically hovers around 95.95%. This is an average figure for mode slots, giving players fair chances of winning.
• Volatility: The slot has high volatility. This means that wins may not be frequent, but they are generally larger. This characteristic is ideal for players who prefer to take risks for a potentially big payout.
• Symbols: On the reels, you will encounter standard card symbols (from 10 to Ace), as well as thematic symbols such as the Ankh, Eye of Horus, Bastet statuette, and, of course, the Pharaoh – the highest-paying symbol.
• Paylines: The game features 10 fixed paylines. This means you cannot change their number, and each bet covers all 10 lines.

Bonus Features

It's the bonus features that make Book of Gold: Symbol Choice truly engaging. They offer players additional opportunities for big wins.

• Book Symbol (Wild/Scatter): As in most "book" series slots, the Book symbol plays a dual role.
  • Wild Symbol: The Book can substitute for any other symbols on the reels, helping to form winning combinations.
  • Scatter Symbol: If 3 or more Book symbols land anywhere on the reels, the free spins round is activated.
• Free Spins: Landing 3, 4, or 5 Book symbols awards the player 10 free spins. Before the free spins round begins, the main feature of this slot is activated:
  • Symbol Choice: The player is given the opportunity to choose one of the regular symbols (excluding the Book symbol) to become a special expanding symbol for the duration of the free spins. This is a key difference from many other "book" slots where the expanding symbol is chosen randomly.
  • Expanding Symbols: When the chosen symbol lands on the reels during free spins, it expands to cover the entire reel if it leads to a winning combination. Expanding symbols pay regardless of their position on the paylines, like scatters, significantly increasing the potential for big wins.
• Free Spins Retrigger: If 3 or more Book symbols land again during the free spins round, you will receive an additional 10 free spins, and the previously chosen expanding symbol will remain active.

Final Verdict

Book of Gold: Symbol Choice by Playson is an excellent slot machine for fans of classics who are looking for a small but significant innovation. High volatility combined with the expanding symbols mechanic in the free spins round offers exciting gameplay and the potential for very large wins. The ability to choose the expanding symbol is the "highlight" that gives the slot its uniqueness and allows players to apply their own strategy. If you are ready to take risks for generous rewards and love the Egyptian theme, this slot will be a great choice for your leisure time.
